In an instant life may change. The change may be instantaneous or it may be gradual. Stories of change are innumerable. A friend, not old and sick, was tired and went to his room for a short nap, and never woke up. The change that happened in my life ten years ago was of the more gradual kind—not a physical death, but nearly as drastic.
In the morning of April 26th, I believed one thing about myself and life, and in the afternoon I seemed to be in a different world altogether. I experienced a shift of reality, and felt like a stranger in a strange land. The clothes I wore were the same; the room and desk with a computer remained; the alligator juniper tree outside my window did not disappear, nor did our home and the neighbor-hood where we resided. My son and daughter waited for me to pick them up at school. My wife came home from work as usual. Life as I knew it the day before remained the same, but my reality shifted.
I was sitting at my desk continuing with work on my book about a famous Roman soldier remembered in history as the Centurion who stabbed Jesus when he hung on the cross. With my computer I was searching the Internet for additional information about the life of Roman soldiers. When searching specific subjects on the Internet you will often find yourself in strange and bizarre places. This happened to me several times, and I moved quickly away.
But one particular website became a significant stopping place. I found historical information about the life of soldiers in the Roman army, and then I began browsing in other parts of the website. I read material that I had never seen. I continued reading that day and the next, and the the day following. In the process I lost interest in completing my book. What I found changed my life. I was seventy years-old, quite happy, and not looking to change anything about my life. Yet, in an instant, change began and has continued to do so ten years later.
In the website I mention I found the archived writings of a man that lived one hundred years ago. The man's name is relatively unknown—it is James Padgett. He was born in Washington, D.C., in 1852, became a lawyer and died in the same city in 1923. In 1914, when he was 62, his life began to change the day that his wife died. Soon after she passed, James did something out of the ordinary. He grieved her passing to such a degree that he attended a séance in order to receive a word from her. He was successful, and after the meeting the psychic-medium informed James that he possessed unused abilities to receive messages from the spirit-world. He returned home with determination to experiment with his talents. He began to practice the method called automatic writing. It was more difficult than he realized. After much practice, he was able to read messages that he received from Helen (his wife), and many deceased relatives.
One day a great surprise came when James was informed that Jesus of the Bible desired to write messages. He did not believe this was possible, and refused to cooperate. His refusal softened, and yet he threw away initial messages that he received from Jesus.
Over the years, between 1914 and his death in 1923, James is believed to have recorded over two thousand messages from about 200 individuals in the afterlife. The most prolific writer was his own wife, Helen, and next prolific was none other than Jesus. James did not publish his own writings; this was not completed until nearly 50 years after his death. And only recently, around 2002, the automatic writings of James Padgett were made available to the public on the Internet. The website where I first found writings of James Padgett is: Spiritual Journey.
A new life for me started on April 26, 2006 – the day when I began to read the automatic writings of James Padgett. I read things in his work that I never once saw during the 25 years that I was a Christian minister. The Jesus I once knew disappeared, and the “true Jesus” came alive through James Padgett's work. Doctrines, dogmas and beliefs that once were important to me also disappeared. “The true Gospel of Jesus” called for my attention, and presented itself through James Padgett for my consideration. And consider it I did.
The Padgett Messages (as they are known today), contain many vitally important subjects, but the greatest of them all, is the truth of the existence and availability of the substance from the Great Soul of our Creator – our Heavenly Father – which Jesus calls the Divine Love. The Divine Love is for the soul of the human, and when asked for and received, comes into the soul and transforms the soul into a new being. We were created in the image of God, and by the Divine Love we are changed into the real substance of the Divine, and become one in Essence of the Father – His children. This message of transformation did not come as the result of my own thoughts processes. It was new, and remains new.
Divine love is changing me, but I am certainly not yet an angel. I am what I like to call a “wanna-be-angel”. It would be nice to experience the complete change while on earth. This is possible. But, if not here, then it will happen after I pass into the afterlife. The best is yet to come!
The change that started in my life ten years ago continues to this day, April 26, 2016.
Today, I celebrate the good news about Divine Love.
Thank you for reading this!
