What is the Divine Love?
"The Divine Love is that Love which belongs to or is a part of God, possessing His nature and composed of His Substance, and which when possessed by man to a sufficient degree, makes him divine and of the nature of God." - Jesus, in a message received by James E. Padgett through spirit communications on May 15, 1917.
"The Divine Love of the Father is the greatest thing in all the world, and the only thing that can make man at-one with God, and change the soul of man as it has existed since his creation into a divine substance filled with the essence of the Father. There is nothing else in all the universe of God that can cause man to become a new creature and an inhabitant of the Father's Kingdom; and when men possess this Love then they possess everything that will make them not only the perfect man but the divine angel." - Apostle John, in a message received by James E. Padgett on August 5, 1916.

Is the Message of Divine Love New or is it Old?
The message of Divine Love is old, in that it is the teaching of Jesus from 2000 years ago; and yet it is new because it is not generally known and taught in our world today. In a sense we may say that the message of the Divine Love presents the lost teachings of Jesus. In this website called DIVINE LOVE The Greatest Thing in the World we will present the evidence behind this claim. Investigate and you will see its truth.
In a message that Jesus gave to James Padgett on January 12, 1916, he said: "The chief object of my mission on earth was to teach the rebestowal of the Divine Love upon man and the way to obtain it." And on November 2, 1916, Jesus again wrote: "My mission is to reach the souls of men as individuals and turn them to the love of the Father; and my weeping or sorrow is, when men will not listen to the voice that comes to them all, as it calls them to turn to the Father and live."

Spirit to Mortal Communications
This website DIVINE LOVE The Greatest Thing in the World is created upon the foundation of the spirit to mortal communications received by James E. Padgett between 1914 and 1920.
The story of how James became the recorder of spirit communications may be told like this:
For centuries, individuals such as Jesus, John, Luke and many others, now living in the spirit world and all very close to our Heavenly Father, have communicated the truths of the Father to people on earth with varying degrees of success. Their efforts to convey a broad range of truths with greater clarity than available here in our sacred and spiritual writings, however, brought few satisfactory results.
Then early in the 20th century, these spirits found a man through whom they could communicate their truths. His name was James Padgett.
James was born in 1852 in Washington, D.C. Through the influence of a neighbor, he became an attorney. In 1881, he married Helen Heyde, the love of his life, who would have an unexpected influence on him after her death.
Helen died in February 1914 at the age of 51. James had loved Helen deeply and longed to stay close to her. He visited séances and was successful in communicating with her. He also was told that he himself had psychic talents, which he was encouraged to develop. He did, with surprising results. His closest friend at this time was Dr. Leslie Stone, a chiropractor, who wrote that Mr. Padgett recorded some 2,500 messages from 1914 until his passing in 1923.

Welcome and Please Return Often
This website DIVINE LOVE Greatest Thing in the World has a fluid nature to it. Not only will new material be added, but in some way its very character will unfold as it moves on. Some aspects will change, and other elements will remain the same. Not everything, whether in written material, videos and audios will be evident and in plain sight to find. One page may lead a visitor to another or to several others. Look for signs and indicators along the way. For example, there are two such pages in the next paragraph. Find them and click on the words and you will be taken to a new page. This will often happen when you walk into various rooms in this website.
An invitation was sent to about a dozen people to preview this website and asked for feedback. The comments received were very positive. One person said that it gave her the image of "a flower growing"; another suggested the feeling of "a river flowing". This is inspiration to allow this website to take on a life of its own.
"I feel more like the caretaker of something that already exists, and that my role is to allow it to manifest. A good example of this is the emergence of the series of videos being created on the subject of Prayer, and the three objectives of the Way of Divine Love." - Joseph Babinsky, Administrator of this website
Welcome, and we hope to see your return visit.

A NOTE ABOUT THE IMAGE AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE
The image is a small portion of a larger painting by the Swiss artist, Robert Zund (1827-1909), titled Gang Nach Emmaus (Way to Emmaus). Zund's painting depicts the story in the New Testament of the Bible, which tells the journey of two friends to a village called Emmaus. While they walked they are joined by a stranger who we are told later is Jesus. After Jesus departed from them, they said to each other, "Did not our hearts burn within us as we walked the way?"
