I'm sitting at my desk bundled in warm clothes, a blanket on my legs, a wool hat and gloves with only fingers exposed. Surprisingly I am warming, so I keep typing.
I am thankful for my small electric space heater. I am also grateful for a small laptop to collect and record my thoughts. In years past I would do this sort of writing with pen in a notebook. I liked the connection that I felt between my hand, the pen and the paper. In the past 15 years or so I have achieved a similar relationship with the key board and screen of a computer and now, recently, with a laptop.
This week on Monday (December 9th) I remembered that it was my brother's birthday. He is now 93 and continues to lay in a hospice bed. I would like to visit with him but I won't. They say he does not communicate and does not recognize his own wife who visits with him daily. His name is Ed. I would visit him too if we lived near. He is in Georgia about 2000 miles away.
I am warm and now that I have typed what I wanted to say about the electric space heater I will close and begin work on thoughts about various projects that arrived for my consideration around 2:00 am. After this I will rest here in my office on a recliner. I'll pray and meditate, and I may also have a short nap before the family wakes.
Thanks for stopping by to read my rambling written on a cold Wednesday morning.
