I was not seeking change in my life; I was merely writing a book, or better said, working on finishing a book that I had started a year earlier. To accomplish this, I researched information that I thought would add clarity and interest to a novel I had written about the Roman soldier who stabbed Jesus in the side during the crucifixion. Most of the research I was doing was done using the Internet. One day while surfing the Internet for additional historical information about Roman soldiers, I happened to enter a website that halted my research about Roman soldiers and started me along a new path of inquiry and investigation. This happened on April 26th, 2006, eight years ago today.
Early this morning I tried to recreate the scene of what happened on the Internet eight years ago. I failed. The Internet certainly has grown and changed in eight years. When I plugged in the keys words in Google Search, a huge amount of pages were presented for perusal (I am certain many more than I found in 2006). I followed the leads this morning and reviewed 30 pages and stopped. I did not find the link to a particular website that I found eight years ago. I tried a second key word and the same thing happened. The website that I discovered eight years ago still exists; and the link remains unchanged … www.new-birth.net.
The above exercise this morning begs the question: What really happened eight years ago? Who or what influenced me to keep searching a subject that eventually led me to the new-birth website? I might offer speculation to give an answer to these questions. I might be right, or I may be wrong. The fact remains; I did visit the new-birth website and my life has been in constant change and transformation since that day. Was it then an angel presence in my life that led me to visit the new-birth website?
The brief version of my story is that when I entered the new-birth website I found myself in the thick of messages received from the spirit world by one James Padgett (1852-1923). I had familiarity with channeled material, so I did not refuse to read the material. What held my attention (and still does in 2014, eight years later), is the source and content of the messages. In my case, writing about the centurion who stabbed Jesus, I read messages stated as authored by the centurion himself. In addition, other authors in the list of individuals in the spirit world who came to write messages through the medium James Padgett, astounded me. Over 200 individuals came to write through James Padgett covering nearly a decade (1914-1923): Jesus, Apostle John, Luke, Matthew, Peter, James, Paul, and others; and notable figures in human history like Constantine, Napoleon, Martin Luther, Augustine, Socrates, Plato, Julius Caesar, Nero, Moses, Solomon, Elias, Esau, Job, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington … and a host of others numbering over 200.
It was not merely the list of individuals that urged me to read on, it was the content of the messages. A Jewish scholar writing about the messages received by James Padgett had this to say: “Whatever one may believe regarding the source of these messages, the contents are so new and revolutionary, yet so compelling by their logic and sublime simplicity, that a serious study of them must be undertaken in order to comprehend their significance and challenge” (Dr. Daniel G. Samuels).
Well, my study of the content of the writings of James Padgett began when I literally ‘stumbled’ into the new-birth website on April 26th, 2006.
I may summarize this brief “anniversary celebration” by saying that the substance of the content of the Padgett writings that has sustained my interest these eight years is the core message of Jesus regarding the Divine Love of God, and how this love is available to each and all of us, and may be – if we so choose – the ingredient in our soul to bring forth the completion of our creation.
I made the choice many years ago, and I renew this choice each and every day. It is the choice for love – the Divine Love – the essential love of God that changes and transforms the soul as it has existed since its creation into a divine substance filled with the essence of the Father. “Father, I desire some more!” is my prayer.
