The visit to the hospital to get information about Jeff did not yield fruitful results.
I went to the main Information Desk, but they would not or could not share any information with me. They cited the “Hippo” Law, which prohibits divulging any information about patients other than to family. But they did say that I should visit the Emergency Room, suggesting they may be more helpful.
Interestingly, as I was preparing to leave the woman behind the desk said in a warm and friendly voice, "It is very kind of you to do this." I wonder, did she ever see Jeff at the Courthouse Square? Maybe so.
After this I went to the ER Information Desk, though not overly friendly, the clerk behind the desk was able to tell me that Jeff was kept only a short time for observation and then discharged. I thought, “Yes, into the cold dark night.” But of course I didn’t say this to the clerk.
However, I did say, “I was hoping that he might have a night in a nice warm bed.” She smiled.
What happens next?
I’ll continue my exercise walks at the Courthouse Square. I'll be there this afternoon.
I feel confident, if it is meant to be I will see Jeff again. But again, maybe this chance meeting and short conversation with Jeff was meant as part of my awakening process.
I’ll write about this tomorrow. Presently I am thinking about writing something about The Prodigal Son.
